This month, the Australian Government began implementing new import regulations for cats and dogs entering the country. The measures are to strengthen the country’s efforts in ensuring Australia remains free of Rabies.

The new measures require animals to be part of a comprehensive new ID system, in addition, many will also have to do an extended quarantine stay of 30 days rather than the original 10 days.

The new regulations differ depending on the country of origin and the animals’ identification information, however for those planning to take animals into the country and/or require more information please contact Mary at Equitrans Pets on: 050 919 2108.
